9.30am (kettle on at 9.00am!) - 4.30pm both days, although end time may change for individuals depending on sculpture stages!
The two day sculpture workshop can be used to create a full sized hare, pair of Boxing Hares, Giacometti inspired pieces, or your own design.
Although no previous experience is needed, we will be using many of the techniques from the one day Hare Sculpture Workshop. If you have attended one of those days, you will be in the best position to make the most of the weekend.
We start with steel stands and build up the sculpture with wire armatures, Mod Roc, plaster and air drying clay. The size of the steel stand can be adapted to your ideas and becomes the strength and 'backbone' of your piece. For bespoke stands I would need at least two weeks notice to allow for welding etc. Please ensure they will be able to fit into your vehicle!
I will discuss ideas prior to the workshop to ensure you can start immediately on your masterpiece.
You can use a plaster and finish which is water resistant so your sculpture can be placed in your garden or on your patio. I do recommend you cover or move it inside for the winter.
There is plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day. Lunch is an hour, please bring your own packed lunch or pop to Hillcrest Deli & Café 5 minutes’ drive away.
Our workshops are friendly, fun and relaxing. They are suitable for all abilities and age groups (children under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult).
Two day workshop numbers are minimum of 2 and maximum of 4.
Gift Vouchers for the full price of a One Day (£95) or a Two Day (£195) are the perfect present and come complete with a beautiful gift card. Please contact me to arrange.
